Our mission is to be a voice for literacy.

Goal 1:
Organization and Structure

Implement KRA strategic
planning processes to ensure KRA goals and committee work
are aligned.

Strengthen local councils
by monitoring council development grants and providing resources for local council work and membership initiatives.

Goal 2:
Professional Development
|
·
Expand professional development
opportunities for Kentucky educators through state
and local venues.
·
Support literacy grants and explore new
initiatives
for KRA members to promote literacy in Kentucky.
·
Implement a strategic membership plan to increase membership by 10%.
·
Develop effective strategies to recruit and retain student members, new educators,
experienced educators, retired educators and other partners in literacy.
·
Participate actively in educational
advocacy for literacy issues in Kentucky and
nationally
by aligning KRA advocacy strategies to IRA advocacy strategies.
·
Provide KRA members with timely and relevant literacy advocacy information and avenues
for making KRA’s voice heard.
·
Build on existing partnerships
with other literacy organizations in Kentucky.
·
Seek additional partnerships with literacy organizations to promote literacy in
Kentucky.
