Goal 1: Organization and Structure

Refine KRA strategic
planning processes and maintain organizational manuals.

Strengthen local councils
by monitoring the council development grants and providing resources for initiatives.

Goal 2: Professional Development

Enhance and improve professional development
opportunities for
Kentucky
educators.

Support grants and explore new
initiatives
for KRA members to promote literacy in
Kentucky

Implement a strategic
membership plan/campaign to increase membership by 10 percent.

Develop effective strategies to recruit and retain student members.

Play an active role in educational
advocacy for literacy issues in
Kentucky
by aligning KRA advocacy strategies to the IRA advocacy strategies (educates, organize,
and activate).

Maintain existing partnerships
with other literacy organizations (e.g. CCLD, KDE).
·
Seek out additional partnerships with literacy organizations to promote improved literacy in
Kentucky
